I don’t know about you, but this time of year I have Pumpkin and Apple Pie on the brain! So, it was perfect timing when Ark Naturals offered to send Daisy some of their tasty and all natural Paws in the Pie treats to sample and help kick off the ‘Holiday Eating Season’ (as I like to call it!). Unlike pie for humans, these tasty little treats are low calorie, low carb, and don’t make a mess when you put them in your pocket to take on walks!
Ark Naturals Paws in the Pie come in Pumpkin Pie and Apple Pie. They contain no wheat, corn or soy, artificial colors or flavors. In addition to being all natural, they are also vegetarian and made from human quality ingredients. I’ll admit that I was curious and tasted them and they have a really nice spice to them, like spiced cider and pumpkin pie spice and are not too sweet.
We’ve been using them as training treats for Daisy while we practice Roll Over, Stay, and Leave It. You can see in the photo above that she has mastered “Watch Me” while waiting for a reward!
The Paws in the Pie treats are the perfect size for a quick bite of positive reinforcement and I don’t have to worry about how many she eats since they are low cal and low carb. They fall into the category that Daisy’s trainer calls a “High Value Treat” meaning we can tell she will work extra hard at her trick in order to get the treat! Daisy is absolutely crazy about them and I love hearing the crunchy sound they make when she eats them!
