Get Ready for Amazon Prime Day

Amazon Prime Day is set for Tuesday, July 12th and Amazon is promising that it’s going to be way bigger and better than last year! This will be welcome improvement over last year when the “good stuff” was hard to find and lots of the deals were on weird products no one wanted or needed. Remember all the chefs hats on sale and the #PrimeDayFail hashtag all over Twitter? Although…I did snag an incredible deal on my Instant Pot electric pressure cooker! I use it so often that it’s hard to imagine I’ve only had it for a year now!

Anyway, according to Amazon, there will be almost twice as many TV deals as Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined…plus huge sales and discounts on toys and other popular product categories as well. There’s also talk about deals on Amazon Echo, Kindle Unlimited and more…so it’s worth being prepared.

I’m the unfortunate position of having to appear for Jury Duty selection on Tuesday, which makes me so sad because there’s nothing I love more than snagging an amazing deal, and I’m having major FOMO over the whole situation, but I wanted to post ahead of time because I don’t want you missing out as well!

Your order will literally be placed with “one click” so be sure your payment and address are correct now!

Amazon deals app

Get the Amazon Shopping apps! Again, don’t wait til the big day to start installing apps. Get them now on ALL your devices, and get them set up by logging in and accepting push notifications so you’ll get alerts. Amazon has apps for Apple and Android devices, plus a Chrome extension for your desktop browser. You can get create watch lists, get alerts and make purchases from your mobile device, meaning you’re less likely to miss a deal. This is what I’m planning to do, but I’m guessing I won’t be allowed to use my phone or tablet during jury duty…but maybe while waiting to (hopefully not) get picked!

Follow Amazon on Social Media! Last year, I found out about several deals from Amazon’s Facebook and Twitter Feeds.

Know which of your favorite Deal Blogs are covering Prime Day! Everyone has their own preference when it comes to deal blogs they find useful, so I’m not going to link to them all here, but a few of my favorites are Hip2Save, Brad’s Deals and RetailMeNot. If you are interested in specific product categories, find out who the experts are and watch them for news on deals for specialty items like electronics, computers, mobile devices, etc.  I’ve just recently discovered Kinja Deals, and find their editors are excellent at curating some of the best deal news around.

Alarm Clock

Set Your Alarm Clock! The best deals will go quickly and hardcore shoppers should plan to get up around 3am if you’re serious about not missing a single bargain. If you aren’t an early bird, you can still watch out for great deals throughout the day…just remember to keep checking the Amazon Prime Day Deals whenever you can.

Have Fun! Whether you are shopping the deals or just watching all the hoopla on social media…enjoy the excitement. There will probably be more than a few frantic news reports covering the chaos of Prime Day and hopefully some funny memes and gifs as well. And whatever you do, don’t worry too much about missing out…hey, at least you don’t have jury duty!
