Sparkling Water for Dog Lovers

Have you noticed that your favorite sparkling water or sports drink has been flying off the shelves? Seems like there’s a shortage on just about everything right now. Since I’m trying to #stayhome and avoid the stores whenever possible, I was super happy to find out about this sparkling hydration drink that’s healthy, reasonably priced, and can be shipped directly to us at home. And it comes in the MOST adorable cans!

It’s Frenchie Sparkling Water Premium Hydration Drink, and it’s in stock for fast shipping right now. We need to keep a supply of water and electrolyte drinks on hand because it’s super hot where we are right now, and Woof Woof Papa is an essential worker who has to be outdoors quite a bit. Hurricane season also starts soon, so now is a good time to stock up on essential supplies.

If you’ve been using your extra free time during the shutdown to up your fitness game, then this is the drink for you. And if you need to watch your calories (because too much quarantine snacking and baking) there’s only 15 calories and 2g of sugar per can so it’s a great alternative to soda pop.

Unlike some sports drinks and popular sparkling beverages, this one is all natural with no preservatives. The formula is based on the current WHO guidelines for an Oral Rehydration Solution. It’s got the right balance of ingredients designed to refuel, rehydrate and allow your body to make the most of the water you consume. And did I mention the can is adorable?!?

Frenchie is a Chicago-based company, and the brand’s name & design are based on the founder’s two beloved pets.

Reading the customer reviews, turns out this also makes a great mixer for cocktails so that is definitely a reason to stock up or have a case shipped to your favorite dog-loving human. Our first case arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

Current price for a 24-pack works out to $1.49/can with FREE 2-Day Shipping for Prime members. Use this link to read reviews and order.

The Week in Dog News: Bailey’s Burrito, Marnie Dies, COVID-19 Pet News + More

There is so much going on in the world right now, that I thought it was time for some dog news. Here’s a roundup of the top news for dog lovers from the past week.

I think we’ve all been guilty of stress eating at one time or another. In campaign news, Elizabeth Warren’s dog Bailey stole a burrito because ‘running for first dog’ was stressful. Bailey has been a star on Warren’s social media accounts and frequently joined her on the campaign trail. Everyone on Twitter is clearly #TeamBailey!

In sadder news, Marnie, the Shih Tzu who charmed Instagram with her head tilt and lolling tongue, died this week at age 18. Marnie was an internet sensation, and poster dog for senior dog adoption. She passed peacefully and will be missed.

There’s lots of news, rumors and confusing information about the Coronavirus, including how COVID-19 may affect pets. Here’s some of what you need to know, but always check with your vet for specific pet health concerns. Pet cats and dogs cannot pass the Coronavirus to humans, but they can test positive for low levels of the pathogen if they catch it from their owner.

Experts have advised that everyone make reasonable (but not panicky) preparations as the coronavirus spreads. That means making sure you are stocked up on pet food and meds so that you don’t run out if you get sick and have to self-quarantine, or there is a shortage in the supply chain. You should also always have a backup plan for who will care for your pets in an illness or emergency.

If you do get sick, limit contact with your pets . Avoid snuggling, being kissed or licked, and sharing food. If you must interact with your pet, wash your hands before and after. Hand washing is ALWAYS good advice!

On a lighter note, we thought this sweet dog news was a great way to end our roundup for the week, Titos Vodka for Dog People and The Dinner Party Project hosted a hilarious and adorable Dog Dinner Pawty to help promote pet adoption. Go HERE to check out all the photos. They sure made us smile!

And speaking of smiles, a two-legged pup named Lieutenant Dan is a finalist in the Cadbury Bunny tryouts. Lieutenant Dan, named after the “Forrest Gump” character who lost his legs in Vietnam, is one of 10 finalists competing for a national commercial spot for Cadbury. Thousands of household pets from across the nation applied, but only a few were chosen. Not only will the winner star in a new Cadbury Clucking Bunny commercial, but they will also receive a $5,000 cash prize. Good Luck and click here to give Lieutenant Dan your vote.
