Did you know that November is National Military Family Appreciation Month? If you know a friend, neighbor or relative in the military, this is a great time to let them know how thankful you are for their service as well how much you appreciate the service and sacrifices of their whole family.

Woof Woof Papa served in the US Army and did 2 active duty deployments, so as the wife of an Army veteran, I can tell you that a day doesn’t go by without me taking time to be thankful for his safe return. It was a difficult time having him away, and there was lots to worry about with his safety, and taking care of things at home while he was gone.

One thing that I really appreciate NOT to have to stress out about during those tough times was health care. That’s because active duty service members AND their families are eligible for a special program called the TRICARE Health Plan, which also includes the opportunity to enroll in the TRICARE Dental Program.

2014 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards {Vote Daily}

We remember and honor the heroes and victims of 9/11 on the 13th anniversary of that tragic day. And today, we’re taking a break from bringing you pet deals and giveaway news, and invite you to join with us in paying tribute to America’s outstanding hero dogs.

Voting for the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards is open, and you have the chance to help name the top American Hero Dog of 2014. Go HERE to read all about the 8 finalists and vote for your favorite.  They are ALL heroic hounds for sure!
