BarkBox Review + Coupon: Thankstuffing Turducken

Some posts may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

Daisy and I review every month’s BarkBox and the holiday editions are always our favorites. This month’s BarkBox is all about Thanksgiving, and spoiler alert, it came complete with an actual Turducken! If you’ve never heard of a Turducken, it’s an upgrade to traditional Thanksgiving turkey. It’s a turkey that’s been stuffed with a duck that’s been stuffed with a chicken. It’s an actual thing that you can order from your butcher or sometimes find at Costco or Whole Foods.

Now that we’ve revealed the main course, let’s get down to business!

If you aren’t familiar with BarkBox, it’s the most popular monthly dog subscription box around. Each month’s box has a different theme and the November BarkBox theme is Thankstuffing.

As with each month’s dog subscription box from BarkBox, this one included 2 fun toys inspired by the theme, plus 2 full-size bags of dog treats and a tasty meat chew. You can expect a value of $40-$50 worth of dog toys and treats in each month’s BarkBox, for as low as $21/month including Free US Shipping.

Every dog’s BarkBox can be customized for their size and food sensitivities. Daisy gets the large dog box which is shown in our BarkBox reviews, but whatever size your dog is, they will get the same number of toys and treats in appropriate sizes.

If you want a deal, use our BarkBox coupon code WOOFWOOFMAMA at BarkBox.com to get a FREE month when you order 1 month or longer.

Here’s a look at what was in the November BarkBox along with the retail values of each item if purchased separately. If you missed getting this box and want to pick up some of the toys and treats shown here, they may still be available for individual sale at The BarkShop.

November BarkBox Dog Toys

  • Mashed Potato Mountain Dog Toy ($10 retail value) Who doesn’t need a heaping mountain of mashed potatoes with their Thanksgiving feast? This cute dog toy even has gravy on top! It’s a plush toy with a large textured squeaker inside.
  • Ducken Stuffed Turkey Dog Toy ($12 retail value) The star of any Turkey Day is the bird and this one is super special. As I mentioned earlier, he’s a Turducken: a turkey stuffed with a duck that’s been stuffed with a chicken. He’s also got some crinkle material stuffing and a squeaker to make him even more exciting.

You can actually pull the duck out of the turkey. Daisy keeps bringing him back to me so I can restuff the toy and then she pulls him back out again.

Such a great example of the creativity and thought that goes into all the BarkBox toys!

Here’s a look at all the dog toy variations that were sent out in this month’s BarkBox.

November BarkBox Dog Treats

  • Lamb Stick Dog Chew ($4 retail value) A meaty lamb recipe chew treat. It’s big enough to break in half and save some for leftovers!
  • Duck. Lamb. Kale. Dog Treats ($8 retail value) You can already tell what’s in these triple stuffed dog treats. All the good stuff and none of the junk. Shaped like kale leaves.
  • Sweet Potato. Honey. Blueberries. Dog Treats ($8 retail value) As with all BarkBox dog treats, these are made in the USA with wholesome ingredients. Shaped like a slice of pie.

As usual, this month’s Barkbox also included info related to this month’s box and theme.

And the flip side is actually a Thanksgiving Table Setting complete with place card for your dog. Super CUTE photo prop for you and your dog!

Barkbox Cost and Value

By our calculation, this month’s BarkBox had $42 worth of dog toys, treats and chews if you were to purchase them all separately. That’s makes a subscription a real bargain when you consider that plans starts as low as $21/month with free US shipping included.

Dog lovers, October is always one of our favorite BarkBox months, and this year’s Halloween BarkBox might just be the best one yet! It’s filled with fun and frightful surprises, and we’re here to tell you all about it with our latest BarkBox review and unboxing.

Each month’s theme is different, and this month the BarkBox theme is Return of the Frankentoys. It’s a spooky assortment of freakishly cute dog toys and tasty treats, because what would Halloween be without some treats!?!

As with each month’s dog subscription box from BarkBox, this one included 2 fun toys inspired by the theme (spoiler alert: this month’s toys are actually 4 toys in all), plus 2 full-size bags of dog treats and a tasty meat chew. You can expect a value of $40-$50 worth of dog toys and treats in each month’s BarkBox, for as low as $21/month including Free US Shipping. Read on to see what we thought of this month’s BarkBox.

Every dog’s BarkBox can be customized for their size and food sensitivities. If you want a deal, use our BarkBox coupon code WOOFWOOFMAMA at BarkBox.com to get a FREE month when you order 1 month or longer.

Daisy gets the large dog box which is shown in our BarkBox reviews, but whatever size your dog is, they will get the same number of toys and treats in appropriate sizes.

Read on for more info and to see what was inside this month’s BarkBox.

October BarkBox Dog Toys

This month, instead of 2 ordinary dog toys, the mad scientists at BarkBox created some Frankentoys! Each one has separate tops and bottoms so that you can mix and match to make your own creature.

  • Ernesto Ballerino ($12 retail value) Part fish and part ballerina.
  • Franken Flossie ($12 retail value) Part bird and part possum

As you can see, they have Velcro so that you can switch up the characters, and Daisy had loads of fun ripping them apart, so they’re really like having 4 toys instead of 2.

Each plush dog toy has crinkle filling and squeaker disk.

October BarkBox Dog Treats

  • Duck Blueberry Franken Snacks Dog Treats ($8 retail value) As with all BarkBox dog treats, these are made in the USA with all-natural ingredients. These are small bites that are great as training treats.
  • Bacon Blackberry Franken Snacks Dog Cookies ($8 retail value) Daisy will always do tricks for bacon treats! These cookies make the perfect snack and the full-size bag is big enough to share with your fellow trick-or-treaters.
  • Plato Pet Treats Thinkers Duck Stick ($3 retail value) One of our favorite treats from one of our favorite brands. Called Thinkers because this dog snack is packed full of DHA and Omega-3 fatty acid famous for its cognitive benefits. This treat is true brain food.

In addition to all the amazing dog toys and treats, BarkBox usually includes some extra bonus items, photo props or other surprises depending on the theme of the month. This month we got 2 extra surprises: Mad Scientist Goggles (great photo prop for Instagram) and some “Candy Bars” (free BarkBox coupons) to share with our dog pals and trick-or-treaters on Halloween!

As usual, this month’s Barkbox also included info with details on the theme and what’s in the box.

Dog moms and dads, it’s time for this month’s BarkBox review, where Daisy and I give you an insider’s look at all the dog toys, treats and surprises that come with the world’s most popular dog subscription box!

Each month’s theme is different, and this month the BarkBox theme is Dog Daze. It’s a Summer extravaganza of floaty dog toys and refreshing treats, perfect for celebrating the last days of the season!

Read on to see what we thought of the August BarkBox.

August BarkBox Dog Toys

Pup A Brewski Floating Dog Toy ($10 retail value) Not only is this a floating toy, but it’s also a crinkle bottle dog toy. And it’s reversible! Our pool is closed due to the hurricane preparations underway, so we’ll have to wait to test this one out but it’s been great for indoor fetch games while we avoid the rain storms outside.

The Tanatee Dog Toy ($10 retail value) This adorable manatee dog toy is also a floaty toy. Living in Florida, we know how important it is to protect the manatee, so it’s a little weird letting Daisy gnaw on this poor guy but she really loves him!

BarkBox dog toys are always super cute, colorful and original. This month was no exception…in fact, this month might just be the most fun yet but it’s hard to say because the BarkBox folks never fail to surprise and delight us with something new in each month’s box. Not every dog gets the same toys in their BarkBox, so here’s a look at some of the variations.

August BarkBox Dog Treats

What’s Up Peanut Brother Dog Treats ($8 retail value) Tasty all-natural dog treats made with peanut butter, honey and banana. As with all Bark treats, these are made in the USA and free from the junk dogs don’t need.

It’s Literally Like The Best Dog Treats ($8 retail value) Bacon and cheese chewy dog treats are the perfect end of summer snack!

Plato Pet Treats Thinkers Duck Stick ($3 retail value) One of our favorite treats from one of our favorite brands. Called Thinkers because this dog snack is packed full of DHA and Omega-3 fatty acid famous for its cognitive benefits. This treat is true brain food.

Once again we were super happy with this month’s BarkBox goodies, but know that if you ever receive a toy or treat that doesn’t make you happy or that isn’t suitable for your dog, BarkBox will send you a FREE replacement with no questions asked. You don’t even have to send back the unwanted item. They encourage you to donate or share it, and will send you a replacement more to your dog’s liking! It’s part of their Scout’s Honor Satisfaction Guarantee that comes with every delivery.

BarkBox Cost and Value

By our calculation, this month’s BarkBox had $39 worth of dog toys and  treats if you were to purchase them all separately.

That’s a great value when you consider that subscription prices start at $21/month with free US Shipping.

In addition to saving money, we also love the WOW-factor and excitement of getting a new delivery of surprises each month.

It’s a chance to discover new dog treats and toys that we might not have known about otherwise. And the BarkBox toys are really Instagram-worthy, making them the perfect photo props in addition to some amazing dog toys!

Peanut Butter and Banana Tastes from the Deep Dog Treats ($8 retail value) Daisy loves banana and peanut butter so these were a HUGE hit! Made in the USA (like all BarkBox treats) and free from any of the bad stuff we avoid(wheat, corn, soy, etc).

Deep Clean Dental Chew for Dogs ($3 retail value) Dental chews are a great way to supplement your dog’s oral hygiene routine. This fun and tasty treat is made with a limited number of ingredients, all super wholesome. Check it out.
