The Saturday after Thanksgiving is known as Small Business Saturday — a day when we are encouraged to shop locally and support independent businesses, artisans and entrepreneurs. It’s the fifth year of Small Business Saturday and the day has grown into a powerful movement with more people taking part than ever before. This year, the big day is Nov 29.
Shopping small and local can be a great way to discover new and unique gift ideas for friends and family on your shopping list this year. During the Small Business Saturday event, many businesses will be offering discounts, free gift wrapping, shipping deals and more special offers. Promotions and events vary by location. Go HERE to see what’s going on near you.
As added incentive, American Express is giving members up to $30 back when you shop at participating locations on Saturday, November 29th. Visit ShopSmall.com to learn more and register your card for the promo.
Even if you aren’t able to get out and shop at local stores in your neighborhood, you can still participate by shopping small businesses online. Be sure to stop by and visit our pals over at RusticHound.com and pick up some paw-tastic gifts for your fur kids!
And don’t forget about Etsy.com for handmade goods and gifts for all the pets and people on your list!
