Daisy and I have been taste-testing a yummy new site called Sweet Relish. It’s a shopping site, but it’s also so much more. It’s the Secret Sauce of shopping! In addition to telling you all about it, we’ve also got a special opportunity to help our favorite local rescue group earn donations from Sweet Relish, so please be sure to keep reading…
Discover, Share and Shop with Sweet Relish
Sweet Relish helps you to create lists, browse, and buy products you love. What makes it so special is that, similar to the way Pinterest works, you can share your lists with friends, and view lists created by other people, which is a sure way to discover sweet new stuff you didn’t even know about! Whenever you find an item online that you might want to buy in the future, you just click the relish button in your browser and add the item to one of your shopping lists. You can also use it to make a wish list if you want to drop some hints to a special someone about what to get you for your birthday or other special occasion.
And speaking of a special someone, meet Luther! Isn’t he gorgeous??? He’s a rescue dog, saved from death row and being cared for by Have a Heart rescue group in South Florida. Luther is a Lab/Hound mix…just like what we guess Daisy to be (she’s a rescue dog, too), and we really hope someone will adopt him soon and make him a part of their forever family. He’s about three and we hear he’s great with kids!
Take Home List for Adopted Shelter Dogs
I’m using Sweet Relish to create the perfect “Take Home List” for Luther, so when he gets adopted, his new family will know about some very special items to help him feel comfortable as he adjusts to his new life and home. It actually makes a great guide for anyone adopting a rescue dog…getting so close to death row, and spending so much time in shelters and foster homes, these dogs deserve some special care! I based my list on our own experiences adopting Daisy and included some items we found helpful in her adjustment, as well as some new items worth trying.
Here’s what my Take Home List for Luther looks like:
The fun doesn’t stop there…the sweeties over at Sweet Relish also sent a Relish Box with a few goodies from our list including a ThunderShirt anti-anxiety wrap and some yummy lavender dry dog shampoo from Eco-Me!
Here’s Daisy chillin’ in her ThunderShirt. We use it at home during ThunderStorms and if we take her somewhere noisy like the patio at our favorite sports bar during March Madness!!!
Signup for Sweet Relish and The Rescue Gets a Donation!
By now, we know you are eager to join the fun on Sweet Relish. It’s totally free to signup, and super easy to get started. It gets even better because the sweeties at Sweet Relish will donate $1 to Luther and the gang over at Have a Heart Rescue for each new user! You can either register using your Facebook profile, or keep things private for now, and just use an email address. Please take a sec to go signup now…the dogs will thank you and you’ll be one of the first to experience Sweet Relish for yourself!!
Great cause, great dog, great site, and thanks!
Great share, I will have to check the site out! Do like the idea of a dollar to help with doggies! I do love the thundershirts. Nothing works like them! I have 4 rescued doggies that use/used thundershirts. They worked for all types of anxiety issues with my rescue Yorkies. They had to wear them 24/7 in the beginning to overcome their abuse trigger issues. After a couple years now they only wear them with thunderstorms sometimes. Excellent tool to use even on small dogs.
