KONG Premium Dog Treats

You’re probably already familiar with the KONG name and know it’s a brand you can trust. Daisy’s very first toy was a KONG and I’m sure the same is true for many of your fur babies, too. Now come KONG Premium Dog Treats.

Made in the USA with natural ingredients, these treats contain NO wheat, corn or soy and NO animal by-products. Each type of treat in the new KONG treat line is made with premium meats, fruits and/or veggies. And in addition to being fun and yummy, many of the treats are also designed to meet a specific need including Dental Care, Skin & Coat, Allergy Sensitivities and more.

KONG Chew Treats Buddies

KONG Chew Buddies are adorable critter-shaped chew treats that come in Bacon, Chicken and Fresh Breath Flavors. I especially love the idea of the Fresh Breath chews made with Alfalfa and Parsley! All three varieties are naturally tasty, easily digestible and designed to treat your dog and help clean their teeth as well. Because of the cute character shapes, they’ll make an excellent Stocking Stuffer this holiday season!

KONG Sweet Potato Stix Dog Treats

KONG Sweet Potato Stix are a super tasty vegetarian dog treat made with healthy, whole foods like real Sweet Potatoes, Carrots and Peas. They are great as a training treat and they are also designed to fit in your dog’s classic KONG toy! In addition to being a natural flavor that dogs love, these sweet potato treats are also great for adding beneficial antioxidants, vitamins, fiber and potassium to your dog’s diet. They come in a resealable bag, too!

Beef Mini Meaty Bites KONG Dog Treats

KONG Mini Meaty Beef Bites are tiny treats with big beefy flavor!  These tasty little treats are wholesome, chewy and made with Real Beef…along with good stuff like Rosemary, Maple Syrup and other natural flavors. These bite-sized bits are perfectly portioned for pocket training treats to take on the go! You’ll also be interested to learn that they fit in the KONG Wobbler. Daisy loves her Wobbler, and when we fill it with tiny treats or kibble, it keeps her occupied and challenged while she works to get the treats out.

Underwater Dogs Book by Seth Casteel

The term “internet sensation” gets thrown around a lot but when it comes to the incredible underwater dog photos by Seth Casteel, the label certainly applies! Early on in 2012, Casteel’s photos of underwater dogs started spreading across the internet like wildfire, taking over Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter for a combined 150 million views on social media sites.

Now comes the publication of a beautiful gift book with more than 80 amazing, entertaining and whimsical photos from the Underwater Dogs collection. Some are viral favorites from the web, but many are never-before-seen portraits of dogs leaping, splashing and diving, captured on film in Casteel’s distinct style of photography.

Daisy Underwater Dog Book

Daisy and I have been looking forward to the release of this book since we heard about it and were thrilled when our copy arrived this week! This book totally captures that magical spirit that dogs have – their capacity to just throw caution to the wind, dive in and thoroughly enjoy life with reckless abandon…a lesson for all us humans who spend too much time looking before we leap!

In addition to incredibly captivating photos, I love the captions that accompany each and every picture, providing the name, age and breed of each dog. From Dooley, the 3 year old Lab to Rocco, the 7 year old Boston Terrier, and every dog in between. What a group of super star swimmers and divers all having the time of their life!

If you are like me, you can probably already think of a whole bunch of dog lovers and photography buffs who would really appreciate this book as a gift. It’s the perfect size for a coffee table or to keep handy on a desk for much-needed relief on stressful or boring work days. It’s also a great gift for your favorite pet sitter, dog walker, or that neighbor who always helps out with your dog when you are in a bind.

Luckily, you can afford to pick up several copies and stash them away as holiday gifts without breaking the bank. It’s got a super reasonable list price of $19.99 if you want to pick it up at your local bookstore. For a real bargain, head on over to Amazon.com and pick up the hardcover edition of Underwater Dogs for only $11.62 (eligible for free Super Saver or Prime Shipping)!

Disclosure: We received a copy of this book from the publisher to facilitate our review. We were not paid or told what to write and all opinions are 100% my own (and Daisy’s). Post contains affiliate links.

Tips for Brushing Your Dog’s Teeth + C.E.T. Flavored Pet Toothpaste On Sale!

CET Dog Toothpaste

Do you brush your pet’s teeth? You really should, but NEVER use people toothpaste…you must use special pet toothpaste like this Virbac CET Enzymatic Toothpaste on sale right now at Coupaw.com. It’s formulated especially for dogs and cats so it’s safe when they swallow it after brushing. This is the brand Daisy uses and her favorite flavor is Poultry!

To make sure I remember to brush her teeth regularly, I keep her toothbrush and toothpaste in a bowl right on the kitchen counter, along with her nail clippers and monthly preventatives. I found in the past that when I put it away after use, I forgot about it!

If you’re having a hard time getting started with brushing your dog’s teeth, try putting a tiny bit of the flavored toothpaste on a treat or ice cube and let them chew it to learn what it smells and tastes like. Then the next time, put some on your finger and let your dog lick it. Then put a little on the brush and let them get used to licking that.

It really does taste good to them, so if you slowly work up to brushing, and make it FUN instead of a chore, they will learn to look forward to it and think of it as a treat. Some day, I’ll video tape the look on Daisy’s face when I ask her if she’s ready for tooth brushing…it’s hilarious! She stares at me like she’s checking to make sure she heard me right, and then runs in to the kitchen and waits!

The CET Enzymatic Toothpaste that’s on sale right now at Coupaw for $6.99 with free shipping ($12 reg) comes in your choice of:

  • Beef Flavor
  • Malt Flavor
  • Poultry Flavor
  • Seafood Flavor
  • Vanilla-Mint Flavor

If the deal is sold out or has ended by the time you get around to reading this, not to worry.  You can also get CET Toothpaste for Dogs at Amazon for $7-$8 and eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping with min. $25 order.

Keep this in mind and add it to an order next time you are shopping at Amazon.com and need a cheap “filler item” to get you to the minimum needed for free shipping! Here’s a list I made with lots more inexpensive pet items to add as filler to get free shipping at Amazon.
