If Dogs Could Make Their Owners Dress Up for Christmas…

Some posts may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

Many pet parents insist on dressing their dogs up for Halloween and Christmas, whether the fur kids like it or not. I personally feel that one should never force a dog to wear anything that makes them nervous, embarrassed or uncomfortable.

Suppose the tables were turned, and your dog could make YOU dress up for Christmas?

Their sweet revenge would be this crazy Wearable Christmas Tree Costume for humans. It’s totally goofy, but would really make a statement at your next ugly Christmas sweater party or office holiday event. Or buy it now and save it for an original Halloween Costume idea for next year!

If you’re interested in checking it out, it’s $79 on Amazon HERE. Free shipping is included, as are the matching gift box shoe covers to complete the look.

Happy Halloween everybody! Today is the perfect day to give you our review of the October Super Chewer Box, since it was filled with all kinds of tricks and treats. In case you’re not familiar,  The Super Chewer Box from the folks at BarkBox is designed especially for dogs who are toy destroyers and need more long-lasting meaty chews.

We’re showing you exactly what you can expect if you decide to get your dog a subscription box of their own. Daisy’s subscription has been customized for her size and food sensitivities, and your dog’s plan can be, too.

Sizes are: “Small but Mighty” for up to 20 pound dogs, “Middle Weight” 20-50 pounds, “Large and in Charge” for dogs 50+ pounds.

Each month’s Super Chewer Box has a new and unique theme and the October box theme is Tricky Treats. Read on to see what was in this month’s Super Chewer BarkBox.

And be sure to use our exclusive coupon code: WOOFWOOFMAMA to get a FREE extra month added to any plan! (yes, even the monthly no commitment plan)

Here’s a look at what was in the October Super Chewer Box along with the retail values of each item if purchased separately:

October Super Chewer Box Dog Toys

Brumpy Rubber Ring Dog Toy ($14 retail value) This tough chew toy is made of natural rubber with a nylon core. It’s got nubs where you can spread peanut butter, cream cheese or whatever your dog likes. Just a reminder that not all peanut butter or spreads are safe for dogs. Be sure to look at the ingredients and avoid anything with xylitol, chocolate, onion or garlic, just to name a few things that can be toxic for dogs. I actually just started buying the all-natural, organic peanut butter from Costco, which is made with only 2 ingredients: organic peanuts and a very small amount of sea salt.

Puckle Treat Dispensing Pickle Dog Toy ($14 retail value) This natural rubber toy is shaped like a pickle and has specially designed spots where you can insert treats. It also has a squeaker but because it’s such a tough toy, I don’t think Daisy has discovered this feature yet.

In addition to making such high-quality, super durable dog toys, I really appreciate that Super Chewer includes a lot of information for dog moms and dads, about each toy in the box. As you can see, this tag shows that the toy is dishwasher safe and BPA free. It’s actually a little booklet with dog toy safety information and info on their 100% satisfaction guarantee that comes with every Super Chewer dog toy and treat.

Here’s a look at all the different versions of tough dog toys that went out in subscribers’ October Super Chewer Box.

October Super Chewer Box Dog Treats

Lamb Recipe Dog Treats ($8 retail value) These Lamb and Papaya Tricky Treats also have potato, and are a 2 out of 5 on the Chewy to Crunchy Scale. As with all Super Chewer dog treats, these are made in the USA with high-quality, natural ingredients.

Pork Recipe Dog Treats ($8 retail value) These chewy treats are made with Boar and Banana. These are almost a meat jerky texture, as you can see in the pickle dog toy photo above.

Plato Pet Treats Thinkers Salmon Dog Chew Stick ($3 retail value) There are always full-size meat chews in every month’s Super Chewer box, and Plato makes some of our favorites. This time it’s their salmon treat sticks, yay! Called ‘Thinkers’ because this dog snack is packed full of DHA and Omega-3 fatty acid famous for its cognitive benefits. This treat is true brain food.

FrankenChew Lamb Recipe Dog Chew ($4 retail value) It’s Halloween, so according to Daisy, the more treats the better! But like any good mom, I’m setting this aside for another day so that she doesn’t overdo it and end up with an upset tummy. The folks at Super Chewer are always so generous with the amount of dog treats in each month’s box, that there is plenty to share and save for later.

In addition to all the amazing dog toys and treats, Super Chewer Box usually includes some extra bonus items, depending on the theme of the month. This month we got a real treat: some “Candy Bars” (free Super Chewer Box coupons) to share with our dog pals and trick-or-treaters on Halloween!

Super Chewer Box Cost and Value

By our calculation, this month’s BarkBox Super Chewer edition had $51 worth of dog toys, treats and chews if you were to purchase them all separately.

That’s makes a subscription a real bargain when you consider that plans starts as low as $29/month with free US shipping included.

BarkBox Review + Coupon October 2017

Interested in surprising your dog with original toys and treats? BarkBox is the most popular monthly subscription box service for dogs. Each month’s delivery comes packed with fun goodies dogs love. The October BarkBox was filled with frights and delights, just in time for Halloween! In addition to 2 crazy fun dog toys and 3 super tasty dog treats, the BarkBox also included a whole bunch of trick or treat cards for handing out to all our favorite pups in the neighborhood they can get a FREE BarkBox of goodies, too.

We hope you’ll stay for our monthly BarkBox review, but if you’re just here for the BarkBox coupon code, scroll straight down to the end and find out how to snag a FREE BarkBox with any order of 1 month or longer!

Daisy’s been getting her BarkBox deliveries for several years now, and it’s still something we always look forward to! Each month we show you what toys and treats are inside that month’s BarkBox, and how the total value of the individual items compares to the price of a monthly subscription.

Be aware that each BarkBox subscription is customized for your dog’s size and allergies, so individual items will vary. Here’s what we got in our October Halloween-Themed BarkBox:

October BarkBox Dog Toys

We got one trick and one treat with this month’s BarkBox toys. A “scary” vacuum cleaner character and a “sweet” candy toy. Both are large, colorful and built to last!

Count Vacuula Dog Toy ($10 retail value) Part of the Household Horrors collection of toys designed exclusively for BarkBox. Stuffed with squeakers, this toy is only slightly quieter than the real thing… but it is double the fun!

Barkzooka Bubblegum Dog Toy ($12 retail value) It won’t stick to fur, but with the hidden spiky ball core (bonus toy!) that keeps playtime going, you will be stuck with the toy for oodles of time.

October BarkBox Dog Treats

Etta Says! Crunchy Duck Stick ($4 retail value) This one is a Daisy FAVORITE…it’s really the only repeat we’ve ever gotten in all the years of getting BarkBox and we wouldn’t complain if we got one every time! I break off smaller pieces of this from time to time rather than give her the whole thing at once.

Spooky Snacks Dog Treats ($8 retail value) Made in the USA without any weird dyes or fillers, these all-natural treats have nothing spooky about them at all. They have cheese in them, which is exactly what Daisy would hope for most if she went trick-or-treating in real life.

Zombie Crunch Dog Treats ($8 retail value) These are super crunchy pork strips. So crunchy in fact, that I could hear Daisy eating one from the other room. She’s not usually a loud eater. I like the size of these strips, since I usually restrict the amount of meat treats she gets. They’re perfectly portioned and all-natural.

As usual, this BarkBox included some added touches that really help to make the experience a special one. The paper that came in the box had cartoons on it, and the info card not only explained the Household Horrors theme, but the flip side also had a fun activity of opening to see who is inside each window on the haunted house.

As I mentioned, it also came with perforated “candy bars” which are individual cards to hand out so our dog pals can also get a BarkBox of their own.

BarkBox Cost and Value

By our calculation, this month’s BarkBox had $42 worth of dog toys and treats if you were to purchase them all separately. That’s a great value when you consider that subscription prices start at $21/month with free US shipping. In addition to saving money, we also love the WOW-factor and excitement of getting a new delivery of surprises each month. It’s a chance to discover new dog treats and toys that we might not have known about otherwise.
