Every month’s box is designed around a different theme. This month is “Health Myth Busters”. The insert that comes with the box helps bust common health misconceptions about fat, sugar and carbs. I LOVE that they figured out how to combine helpful nutritional information with yummy snack food! My September box included:

  • Pistachio Power Clusters
  • Umami Roasted Nuts
  • Big Island Pineapple Slices
  • Apple Orchards Granola
  • Toasted Sesame Stix

They were ALL amazing with the Pistachio Clusters being my absolute favorite…wish I could order more of THOSE!

The cool card that comes with each box also includes info about the ingredients as well as a new recipe to try and ALL the ways to connect with NatureBox on social media! You can visit NatureBox on Facebook if you’d like to see photos of previous boxes.

PetSmart Halloween Costumes for Dogs: Daisy the LadyBug!

PetSmart lady bug costume back

We were just starting to talk about what Daisy should be for Halloween this year, when a package showed up! The sweeties over at PetSmart looked through the new 2012 collection, decided that Daisy would make a cute a Ladybug, and sent over this adorable dog Halloween costume for her to wear for trick-or-treating this year.
daisy lady bug halloween costume petsmartShe’s still getting used to wearing it, so we are glad it arrived early to give her time to adjust. Unless your dog is accustomed to wearing clothing or costumes on a regular basis, we suggest you get yours soon and give your pup time to get used to theirs, too!

This one has a hood with ear holes, and Daisy was pretty good for her Daddy while he helped her put it on. My job was holding the treats and camera and trying not too laugh too hard…you can see this shot is a little blurry because I was giggling and she was wiggling.

Look how CUTE those heart-shaped antennas are!!! It’s the only challenging part about putting on this costume and might work better for a dog with slightly smaller ears, or maybe ears that are less floppy and more pointy…but it’s so fun, and you can roll the hood into a collar like we did in the top photos.

If you aren’t sure about fit, I suggest you take your pooch with you to PetSmart when you shop for a costume. In addition to deciding which size fits best (Daisy is 50 lbs and this is an XL), there are also many different costumes to choose from and your dog will want to help pick!

If you’ve got a fur kid that isn’t fond of wearing a full costume, you could get a cute bow, collar or other Halloween accessory instead. Check out all the dog Halloween costumes and accessories at PetSmart.com for LOTS more.

Cooling Off with Arbor Mist Frozen Wine Cocktails! {Product Review}

Arbor Mist Cocktails

This Labor Day weekend, Daisy’s Papa and I enjoyed kicking back and relaxing with new frozen wine cocktails from Arbor Mist.  A big THANKS to SheSpeaks for sending them for us to try in time for the holiday! I always enjoy  frozen cocktails, but sometimes making them can be a hassle and leave a mess to clean up. I’ve even burned out a blender when a good friend came to visit and we got a bit carried away and wore out the poor machine!

freezer full of arbor mist cocktails

What makes these different is that the Arbor Mist Frozen Wine Cocktails require no mixing of ingredients, ice or blenders. You just place the liquid pouch in the freezer for five hours, gently massage, tear open the top, squeeze to pour into a glass and enjoy a smooth frozen wine cocktail! Very refreshing, especially since it’s been really hot down here this weekend, as usual!

We received all three flavors to try:  Blackberry MerlotStrawberry White Zinfandel and White Pear Pinot Grigio. My own personal favorite was the white pear, while hubby liked the strawberry best. They are a bit sweet and too high in calories for regular consumption, but they sure were tasty, fun and perfect for the holiday weekend! I think they would also work well for picnics, taking to the beach or for a concert or festival since you can throw the frozen pouches in the cooler and then just enjoy them with a straw when they’ve melted to be a bit more slushy!

Everybody Hates Dog Poop. Why You’ll LOVE AuggieDog Eco-Friendly Yard Tool!

Let’s face it…no one likes picking up dog poop. It’s one of those things we have to do as responsible pet parents. Dog poop is stinky, it spreads germs and NO ONE wants to accidentally step in it! In addition to the hassles of bending and stooping to scoop the poop, there is also the issue of the poop bag. There’s the worry about accidentally putting a finger through it (been there, done that) and plastic bags are wasteful and most aren’t biodegradable either. Plus, poop bags aren’t cheap. You could easily spend $75 or more a year on them. And then where to dispose of the poop bag. Can’t put it in the regular trash…too stinky.

All-in-all the whole picking up poop situation stinks! Thank goodness for AuggieDog – a new power yard tool for dog owners! The AuggieDog puts an end to all the things we hate about picking up poop: no bending or stooping, no scooping and NO wasteful plastic bags. Take a sec to watch this quick YouTube Video and you’ll easily understand how it works and why AuggieDog was a recent Award Winner at the 2012 Global Pet Expo:

As you can tell from the video, it’s so easy to use that you can probably get your kids to do it! Imagine how helpful the AuggieDog would be for homes with a large yard, families with multiple dogs, or for volunteers who help out with chores at the local rescue organization or shelter!

    • Eliminate the need for bags (environmentally friendly)
    • Built in light for late night walks

Super-Absorbent Soggy Doggy Mats and Shammy Product Review

dirty daisy

As you’ve probably already seen or read here, Daisy is one dirty dog. She and her boyfriend Fin love swimming and rolling in the dirt, and never let the rain stop them from having a good time. That’s great for her, but dealing with a muddy, wet dog can get to be a drag…even one as cute as Daisy!

Daisy and Fin wet play date

With so much messy outdoor fun to be had, and lots of summer rainstorms and beach trips this time of year, we are super excited to have discovered Soggy Doggy and to bring you this 20% Off Soggy Doggy discount exclusively for readers, followers and fans of Woof Woof Mama & Daisy!

Use Promo Code WOOFWOOF20 when you order, and get 20% off all Soggy Doggy Doormats, Slopmats and Shammys, designed especially for homes and families with dogs!

What makes these products so special? The microfiber chenille material allows the Soggy Doggy Doormats and Super Shammys to soak up water and dirt like a sponge! The doormats absorb 5x more water than regular cotton doormats and the Super Shammy can hold up to 7x its weight in water! The material is exceptionally hard-working and goes right in the washer and dryer! But the chenille also makes it velvety-soft and gentle under delicate paws and bellies.

The Soggy Doggy Shammy has been getting quite a workout already at our place! Papa uses it to dry Daisy after her bath, and after a trip through the washer and dryer, I hang it on the door knob of our front door so it’s always handy if we come home with dirty paws or wet fur.  It has built-in hand pockets for easy wet-dog handling. Here’s Daisy waiting to go out and play again…

Daisy, ready to go out and get dirty again

Not only is Daisy a dirty dog, but she can also get pretty enthusiastic about eating and drinking…this means a mess around her feeding area most of the time. Luckily, we also got to try the Soggy Doggy Slopmat. This mat is made from the same super-absorbent material as the shammy and also has a no-slip backing so Daisy’s food bowls don’t slide around the floor while she chows down. I love this because it’s really cut down on the wet and slippery area around her food and water bowls and means less cleaning for me. It’s a much better solution that using a dishtowel and so far I’ve washed the mat a couple of times and it’s in great shape! I let it air dry to save electricity, but the directions say you can machine dry on low if you prefer.

The 3rd product we tested was the Soggy Doggy Doormat. This mat is also machine washable and has the same no-slip backing as the smaller food mat, but is much larger and perfect for the high-traffic entry area at our place. We used to put towels down because every area rug or mat we’ve had just got too dirty and wore out too quickly…or were too hard to clean.  I’m really impressed with how great a job this mat does at trapping all the yuck we track in. And it’s much classier than having towels on the floor. LOL It’s also really cuddly soft and the mat has become one of Daisy’s favorite places to lounge.

Getting the chance to test and review these Soggy Doggy products couldn’t have come at a better time for us with the summer rainy season kicking in down here (although Daisy is pretty good at getting dirty all year). They are officially Daisy Tested and Mama Approved!
