Soundfreaq Sound Platform 2: Stream Great Sounding Wireless Audio from Your Favorite App and Device

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Soundfreaq. I received a Soundfreaq Sound Platform 2 to facilitate my revew.

Soundfreaq Sound Platform 2

Daisy and I have been busy testing out the cool new Soundfreaq Sound Platform 2. It’s a wireless Bluetooth speaker packed with features but super easy to use with just about any device you own, whether it’s Apple, Android or Windows. It comes with a simple setup guide about the size of a large postcard but I didn’t even need it. I took our new speaker straight out of the box, plugged in the power cord, and paired it immediately with my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. It was as easy as using a Bluetooth hands-free device and in less than 3 minutes we had rich sounding audio…no cables or docking required!

The first thing I did was experiment with switching between all my favorite music apps as well as test out how easy it would be to switch between devices. On my phone, I usually use Pandora so we played around with that one first.  Since the Soundfreaq is wireless, and designed to work with just about any phone, tablet or PC out there, your smartphone or other Bluetooth device becomes the remote control. I love this because we’ve already got way too many remote controls to keep up with! And not having to dock my device on the system itself means I always have my phone with me. I can be working in the kitchen and still be totally in control of the music selection and sound level playing in the other room.

It works just as well with my iPad which is great because that’s my favorite way to access my iTunes library and also to watch movies on Netflix. And it’s also got an FM radio with fantastic reception…even better sounding than the satellite radio we used to have!

Since docking is not required, there are no compatibility issues. I love this because I think we’re all pretty sick of getting a great new device only to discover that our current accessories are now outdated and need to be replaced. If you do happen to have an older device that isn’t Bluetooth compatible, there is an AUX IN jack to connect any device with headphone or line out jack.

PMD: Professional Microdermabrasion Beauty Treatments At Home!

PMD

Let’s talk skin! Like many pet parents I spend lots of time outdoors and often spend more time and money caring for Daisy’s grooming needs than I do my own.  The lack of attention I’ve been paying to my skin is starting to really show!

We live where it’s warm and sunny all year and though I’ve tried to be good about the sunscreen, my skin is showing definite signs of sun damage and dark spots. I’ve always struggled with enlarged pores and now that I’m getting older, I’m also seeing lots of fine lines and random rough patches popping up. I’ve got a few old acne scars I’d like to get rid of, too.

Most of you know me well enough by now, to know that I’m always on the hunt for effective, affordable solutions for both pets AND their people. I’ve been testing out the PMD, Personal Microderm Device, for about 3 weeks now and am super excited to let you in on the secret. For about the price of one spa facial or visit to a cosmetic dermatologist, you can give yourself weekly skin rejuvenation and anti-aging treatments at home!

PMD microderm device

What is PMD?

PMD is an at-home microdermal exfoliation system that uses the same aluminum oxide crystals found in the equipment at your doctor’s office, salons and fancy spas. It’s designed to  help improve your skin texture and appearance in two ways: The aluminum oxide crystals embedded into the exfoliating discs work to resurface the stratum corneum skin layer (that’s the one that can make skin look dull and old), plus the PMD uses vacuum suction to stimulate blood flow and bring collagen to the surface. Both of these actions help your skin care products to penetrate deeper into the skin so you use less and they are more effective, too!

Why I Like It:

Most of us don’t have time and money to make frequent visits to the spa or cosmetic dermatologist. Even if you have health insurance, anti-aging and microderm treatments aren’t covered and can be expensive since you usually need repeated visits to see results. With the PMD, you buy it once, own it for life and use it  every 6-7 days on your own schedule. I’ve only been using it for 3 weeks but I am already seeing and feeling smoother skin, and am starting to see a brighter, more even skin tone too. Here’s more reasons I’m a fan of this beauty tool:

Desk Top Aquarium Powered by Your Computer’s USB Port

Some posts may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

This desktop aquarium is so modern and beautiful that when I first saw it, I was sure it was going to be way too pricey. Turns out it’s only $40, so I may have to order one for Woof Woof Papa’s desk too!

Desktop Aquarium powered by computer USB port

The aquarium plugs into a USB port in your computer and continually recirculates water through a filtration system. The attached gooseneck lamp has six LEDs that cast light onto a desk or the interior of the fish tank and LEDs inside the aquarium project colored light. An integrated digital clock has an alarm and displays the date and the indoor temperature, and a compartment next to the tank holds writing utensils and desk items. An integrated speaker plays five different nature sounds. It even comes with a lifetime guarantee!

This would make an excellent Christmas gift if you are thinking about starting your shopping early like I am! Check it out at HAMMACHER SCHLEMMER but if you order, remember to start from ebates.com where you will find Free Shipping promo codes, and get 6% back by using their link.
